About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To go places and really be there
ABOUT ME
I'm a writer, I have a Masters in Children's and Young Adult Literature, I work as a freelance editor, and I've lived all over the place.
I love to hike. I walk with crutches, but since moving to Seattle I've discovered that my body is far more fun and FAR less limited than I've ever thought before.
PHILOSOPHY
Love is asking the hard questions.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Right now, I'm rediscovering PJ Harvey and Belle and Sebastian. I've also recently come to understand the big deal about Prince. But I also like music that challenges the way I used to think about music -- instruments and silences that MAKE me focus only on the song.
Books: So many. Kazao Ishiguro, Nick Hornby, Banana Yoshimoto, Zadie Smith, Elizabeth McCracken, Jonathan Letham, Phillip Roth are some of my favorites.
Movies: Man, that is ALWAYS changing, depending on my mood. Almost every story and series of images has something to offer if you find it at the right time, so I wouldn't even know where to begin with my favorites.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
People always amaze me when they're talking late at night, hiding nothing, and we're comfortable together in a real exchange. My most powerful moments thus far haven't looked like photo ops. And sometimes the change itself is all the description you've got.
Teach, Learn, Share
I really like people who see books as people. Who know there's a physical world outside of the page, but that stories can be as alive, embodied, and surprising as we are.
