About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a 22 year old girl from Essen, Germany. The last two years I've been studying to become become a social woeker one day. At the moment I'm gaining some practical experience in France. I'm staying for three months at L'arche, where I've been volunteer for one year in 2011/2012.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In my year as a volunteer, I do not live alone, but with 2 co-workers and 7 people with a mental handicap, so I am unfortunately not able to offer my couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

totally new- so none (yet ;-) )

Interests

Couchsurfing asks me to list anything that I am interested in. Puuh. In my opinion, the really little things in life are often the most interesting ones, but I won't list all of them, that's sure.

So, a brief overview.

I love forests, gardens, parks, plants, I like the ocean, rivers and lakes, especially the places that seem so untouched and natural.
One day, I would loooove to have an enorme garden full of vegetables, fruits, herbage and lots of flowers.

I can't wait for all the seasons to begin (and sometimes I can't wait them to end either...):the first spring breeze, days in summer, so hot that everything seems to be standing still, the colours and smells of automn, a heavily raining day or, better, a really snowy day in winter.

I'm also a big animal fan, the most important reason for me being vegetarian. Show me a cat and you'll see me running afterwards! There are some animals, especially spiders, to whom I prefer to have a rather distant relationship (show me a spider and you'll see me running backwards) but nevertheless I rather arrange with them (spider near bed = me on couch) than killing them.

To avoid sounding complete bizarre, it could be interesting that I like humans, too! There are some that I LOVE, like my family, my friends etc., there are others that I like, and some little others I don't like too much, but this doesn't keep me from being interested in humanity in general and in hoping for more justice and equality for them one day.

Oh, and music. Big surprise, I like music! I like listening to it, very different types (moreover I'm totally clueless about music genres, so don't ask me what I'm listening to) but I also enjoy making music, playing viola, trying to play the piano or singing loudly and out of tune when I'm alone.
