About Me
Hey! I'm Sarah & I'm a super fun 24 yr old who currently is living in Austin, TX. I'm Texas born & raised, but Austin is the hip place to be. I love everything about Austin and I am very involved in everything that happens here from music fests to concerts to events, brew tours, toobing, paddleboarding ect. Austin has so much to offer, but like I said, I have been in Texas my whole life. My number one goal is to travel the world, it is such an amazing experience to visit places you have never been and meet people you would necessarily never meet. learning about new culture's is a wonderful thing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best part about visiting a new place is seeing the LOCAL places, not the touristy ones. Granted I'm all for checking out the "must sees" but when you only do that you are missing out on what the whole culture is about. It is also great to make new friends around the world! There is something so awesome and humble about a person taking time out of their life to show you how awesome their city is. I know I have pride in my city, I usually find myself talking to out of townees and exchanging info just so I can show them the coolest spots in Austin that you can't find in a guidebook. I want that experience - I don;lt need fancy hotels, I'm there for the whole experience. Just give me a roof over my head, an adventure and a friend and I'm good to go.
Interests
I'm very involved in the music scene - it's my passion. I think i go to a concert at least twice a week! I also love the beach, the lakes any body of water, paddle boarding, water skiing, basically any water sport. I also play doubles sand volleyball and I'm quite good :) I'm pretty much up for anything and love to try new things - as long as it's not cow eyeballs

Music, Movies, and Books
I love a lot of different types of music - rock, punk, indie, psych rock, new wave, some edm, 80's, 90's etc. To name a few I love: Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin, Talking Heads, Cut Copy, Bass Drum of Death, Tame Impala, Odezsa, Third Eye Blind, King Khan & the Shrines, Real Estate, The Dandy Warhols, Little Dragon, Toro y Moi, TV on the Radio, Velvet Underground I could go on but I'll stop there.
Movies - I'm a crazy horror film / slasher film buff. They are just so awesome and funny! I also love comedies - anything with Will Ferrell is good in my book. I'm currently obsessed with Bates Motel, Walking Dead, and Parks & Rec.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My life long dream has always been to move to Australia and be in the music business. I have never really left the US and have not been many places here either. I'm still pretty young and broke - but I just got my first "big girl" job last year and we get vacation time. So I got tired of waiting and booked a ticket to Brisbane, AU. I went all the way to the other side of the world by myself and stayed for 10 days. I did have one friend over there that i stayed with for a little while before going to a hostel. We climbed up this huge mountain to see the sunrise and I did not think I was going to make it (I was super out of shape ahah) I fell at least 30 minutes behind my group - so I'm in a jungle mountain in pitch black trying to make it to the top - pretty surreal. But somehow I made it just in time to see the most beautiful sight I had ever seen. Basically the whole trip was the most amazing and proudest I had ever felt. To be so free yet so vulnerable and the only person you have to depend on is yourself. It was crazy and hands down best thing I have ever done.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can show them to true value of friendship and loyalty ( so corny, i know) but I really am a great friend and would never leave anyone, new friend or old, behind. I can also show people a badass time in Austin, TX - one they will never forget! Overall I'm a fun-loving person who enjoys a good time with a good head on her shoulders.
