About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to experience people. Since I can't really get out and about and travel like I would like to right now, I would love to be able to meet all sorts of wonderful travelers.
ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Sarah, I'm 22 and am currently living in Tyler, TX. My husband and I are moving to Austin at the end of March. I grew up in a wonderful little town in East Texas that you've never heard of but that is really quite enjoyable if you're okay with not doing much of anything. I knit and play music in my free time. Guitar and piano are my mediums of choice. Trying and failing at learning mandolin. I haven't traveled enough to suit me and I'm not sure that I will be ever be able to get my fill of the world. I love meeting new people and experiencing new things!
PHILOSOPHY
Life is rich. More rich than a lot of people realize. I believe in loving people and helping when you can. I believe that you choose precisely how you live.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
The motto of my home town is, "where hospitality is a habit." It's true! I grew up with an open door policy and have meet so many new and interesting people because of it. I know how nice it is to feel like you have a home away from home in a different city and would love for people to feel that they have that at my place.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was lucky enough to have an awesome host for a few days in Austin, TX and got to stay a night with one of the most popular hosts on Couchsurfing in Lousville, KY. Thanks, Alon and Melanie! =)
Interests
I try to devour music and books like I devour air. I love being outside and love meeting new people. I like late night chats and sunrise coffees, though rarely enjoyed because of my love of sleep. Sunlight. Rain. Self-made joy. Positive attitudes.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm open to just about any music, books, or movies. I try to keep broadening my horizons. I generally tend towards folk/bluegrass music like Mumford & Sons, Bon Iver, Ray LaMontagne, Iron & Wine, and Band of Horses. I rock with the Beatles. I roll with random indie bands. And occasionally I'll two-step to George Strait. My favorite author is Carlos Ruiz Zafon.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my favorite experiences was traveling to Israel several summers ago. I was fortunate enough to be an archaeologist for a few weeks with some wonderful people! I also spent two weeks in Europe exploring the Baltic Sea.
Teach, Learn, Share
Culture. Definitely culture. East Texas can be an experience like no other, if you let it. I want to build relationships.
