Music, Movies, and Books

Just finished Far From the Madding Crowd (I had forgotten just how much I like Thomas Hardy), What's Eating Gilbert Grape; The Worst Day of My Life, So Far; Train Spotting; Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain(the inspiration for my roaming gnome), Catch 22, Anna Karenina- all books/movies I recommend. I enjoy blues/rock/classical/jazz/swing/some hip-hop/some rap, well, not really but every once in while..., everything else in between. Currently liking Passion Pit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best one so far has been an archeological dig in Mongolia-six weeks in the field, living in a tent, horseback riding across the steppe and interacting with the people of the country.

Teach, Learn, Share

Would like to learn ohhh so much, but cost and time are in short supply. So the list includes dance (swing, lindy-hop (so much fun!when I have a partner who knows what he's doing), latin dances (who doesn't want to feel sexy?)) And I'd like to learn some outdoor sports - not very hand eye coordinated or physically fit, so don't know how much success I would have. There are several others, but the above are my current wants. And I would really like to get back into hiking. I miss it.

What I can teach others... Not quite sure. Definately how to hold a French knife correctly, and some other culinary know-how. Other than that, well, I'd have to learn some the above before I can pass it on
