About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to feed my mercurial disposition. I enjoy long meaningful discussions that open my mind, experiencing cultures first hand in new ways, meeting interesting and inspiring people, and sharing the parts of life that a good.

ABOUT ME

I’m a linguist working on my masters with a severe case of restlessness. I am overly passionate about too many things and quick to change my mind about everything. I am passionate about travel because it gives the opportunity to learn and grow from other people.

I am an amateur at most things that I try, but love them all the same. Some of my skills include: photography, scuba, skiing/snowboarding, hiking/trekking, camping, cooking, languages, and listening, but unfortunately no sweet numb chuck skills here. (*Idaho 'Napoleon Dynamite' reference here for those paying attention)

I have been with my husband for 10 years and we have been married for 5 years.

PHILOSOPHY

I am all about balance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are moving around now and can't host, but still hope to be hosted and meet some really great people in our travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not much couchsurfing experience yet. For years I have done the hostel thing which I enjoy. Hopefully some great stories can fill this space soon.

Music, Movies, and Books

This list would go on forever. I love movies, music, and books.

I can quote too many movies than I am proud to admit. Though I am not fond of thrillers or gore for the sake of gore.

My husband says my Pandora stations list is out of control. My music preferences change with my mood or with a new recommendation.

I have just become a reader. My husband converted me quite successfully. So far we have read some great books including "The Heaven of Animals" by David Hames Poissant, "Me Talk Pretty One Day" by David Sedaris, we just started "The Creating Brain" Edited by Nancy Andreasen and I even enjoy YA & scifi quite a bit with books like The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins, The Game of Thrones series by George RR Martin, The Ender's Game series by Orson Scott Card, and the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My husband and I (boyfriend at the time) climbed to the top of Hua Shan, one of China's 5 great mountains and spent the night on the cliffs to watch the sunrise over the range in the early morning.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook a mean Lebanese meal from the recipes passed down from my great-grandmother. I love to cook a feast and sit down to a great evening of chatting, drinking, and games.

I am also, as mentioned before, and amateur dabbling in many trades so I would be happy to pass on my knowledge and pick up some of yours.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Anything I can provide is yours for the taking. A joke, a meal, or a drink.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Fiji

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, China, Japan, United States
