About Me

From 25th July to 17th August I am going to be in England! Try writing to Georg as he is coming back earlier than me!
_____

If you can't write me a request for some reason, you can send me a message instead!
_____

I am British but live in Vienna with my boyfriend Georg (http://couchsurfing.com/georgwittmann) and Mimi, a crazy cat!

We only accept personalised requests, so please put some effort into what you write! 'Got couch?' is not enough! Please also fill out your profile properly, so we know a bit more about you and whether we would get along.

We live 44m-square flat with two rooms, which means you will either sleep in the bedroom with us, or in the kitchen/living room. We can offer you a mattress on the floor, or for two people, a yoga mat with blankets to make a DIY bed! We are quite flexible when it comes to timing and our flat is very easy to reach from all the main arrival points in the city. The nearest station is Handelskai.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have surfed in lots of different places (Edinburgh, Rio de Janeiro/Niteroi, Brighton, Budapest, Bratislava, Krakow...) and met lots of amazing people, including my partner Georg :) I think it's an amazing way to get an authentic experience of a new place, and of course, make new friends all over the world. It also offers people who have less money the opportunity to travel, making it a less 'elite' activity.

Interests

Most of my interests are based on the fact that I love nature - I enjoy going for walks in green places, swimming in the sea and geocaching. I also love cooking and eating, as well as playing cards and board games.

I try and live a sustainable life, which means a lot of different things to me... Feel free to ask me about this :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very eclectic taste in music, and I can play the cello. When it comes to books, I love fantasy novels and films set in the Middle Ages, like Robin Hobb, and I like British comedy series like Green Wing and Spaced.

At the moment I am reading The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan and watching his Netflix programme Cooked.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting the Grüner See in Styria, Austria. We took a car share very early in the morning, walked a long way, hitch hiked (my first time) and then walked some more. It was so beautiful, I will never forget it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share information about cooking, English language & literature, British culture, German language, reading music...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a respectful, polite guest and I always try to bring something with me for my host. I am more than happy to cook, and I always clean up after myself!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Slovakia, Switzerland, Wales
