American (north!), currently living in Sweden in between trips to "the field" (Nepal, Congo, etc.). Enjoying Scandinavia, but looking enjoy getting away almost as much!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I enjoyed a beautiful fall weekend in Oslo with amazingly kind couchsurfer hosts. We hosted one person in my current house and hope to have more.

Fiddle, banjo, running, playing in the snow, adventures, hitchhiking!, reading about the World Bank, cooking, being cooked for, drinking good beer.

Read anything by Haruki Murakami (you can start with the Windup Bird Cronicles), try Bioy Casares (an Argentinean sci-fi author and friend of Borges), Richard Brautigan when things are too heavy, and try poetry or novels by Margaret Atwood . Enjoy!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Witnessed the Vasaloppet in 2009 (a 90km Swedish cross country ski race)! Hitchhiked to Oslo, spent Mayday in Havana, hiked the width of Glacier National Park, rented a house in New Orleans during Jazzfest....all with inspiring friends and acquaintances.
