Hello!
My name is Sarein. I will be travelling in India for a few months and am looking to make travel connections and companions. I will be in Rajasthan from March 18th onwards - then heading to Varanasi, a trek in the Himalayas, Darjeeling, Calcutta, Chennai, Kerala, Goa, Mumbai. I am interested in volunteering throughout my journey in India because I think it is a great way to get to know local people, places and history while giving back and making a positive difference in this life. A little more about me...I am a hard-working and happy person who loves many things (see interests below). I studied geography and environmental studies at university with a focus in conservation. I volunteer often back home in Canada and abroad because I think it is a valuable and beautiful experience to learn and to give.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would love to meet people through couchsurfing and tour them around my beautiful hometown when they are in the area. I do not have a car but the bus and biking is easy here, and I can sometimes borrow a car.

I am new to the world of couchsurfing, but hear great things from friends who use this network and look forward to being apart of this community as a way to know local people, ways of life and places.

I love being outdoors in nature, growing vegetables, hiking, hula hooping, aerial hooping, acroyoga, cooking, writing, reading, music, playing the bass, softball, harvesting and learning about local plants, meeting people, volunteering for environmental and humanitarian causes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteering with Sea Shepherd stopping illegal poaching in the Gulf of California in order to protect the Vaquita Porpoise from extinction.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love vegetable gardening and would love to share my knowledge.
I love plants (local and non-native) and teaching people about their names and uses.
I love showing people how to hula hoop and do tricks.
I love languages and am happy to teach English, French or Spanish. I would also love to learn more Spanish, Punjabi and the language of whichever country I am travelling in.
I would love to share and learn not only about gardening, plants and hooping, but am open to a diversity of new knowledge and practical skills.
