About Me
Hello! I am editing my profile 10 years after my last trip overseas! I am so ready to go again!
Jess and I are heading to Japan in May 2025 on a working holiday visa. We hope to find a way to make it through the whole year as there is so much that we want to discover.
We are planning to use Workaway and WWOOFing type accounts for longer term accommodation, but I had great experiences with couch surfing during my travels in Europe and know that it's a great way to meet people when you can only stay for a short time.
We love to learn and would appreciate any knowledge you can share with us.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that the best way to discover a new place is to be introduced by someone who knows it very well and has a connection to it, and this is why I am so drawn to the idea of couch surfing. I look forward to a day in the future when I have a space of my own to be able to host travelers in New Zealand.

We are interested in Japanese cuisine, art, history, culture, community. We want to tour Japanese gardens and learn about landscaping styles.

Music, Movies, and Books
There is band from Aotearoa New Zealand that I love called The Beths. One of my favorite movies has always been Grave of the Fireflies. My favorite books right now are travel books!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I built a camping bungalow out of recycled materials 8 years ago and it's still standing and keeping out the rain!
Teach, Learn, Share
We can definitely do some gardening for you, tell you about where we come from and bring gifts and open minds.
We would love to learn about what goes on in your area.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Would love to work with you on creative projects, help out around the house, make a pavlova (NZ dessert) for you!
