About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Experiencing my self in a series of different moments and environments.
ABOUT ME
I've been practising and teaching yoga for some time, and I'm passionate about helping people through this technology. I'm active in the 3HO worldwide community of Kundalini Yoga practitioners. I was trained as a a mathematician and worked a little while as a programmer. I still support the proliferation of free software. I'm also a race official in the sport of sailing. a vegetarian, a practising Sikh and Pagan, the father of a 15-year-old son, and an avid traveller.
PHILOSOPHY
Living is an art form. We are the creator, the media and the public.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe in the sacredness of hospitality to travellers. Through the years, I've gained so much from people willing to help out a stranger from a strange land. Being hospitable is a way of giving back.
And now, a few notes on how I would prefer you to contact me through Couchsurfing. I know I sound like an old wife, but it's better to be clear upfront. If you want to stay at the ashram, please send a Couch Request, and not a personal message, this way I'll read it sooner, and I'll understand the details about your visit better. A personal message is fine, of course, if you have questions about Mexico City, yoga or life in general.
We get quite a few requests, so if you plan in advance, you increase your chances of us being available. It doesn't mean that we'll say no if it's a last minute thing. Sometimes a gap opens up and you may get lucky.
A thing about yoga. You don't have to convince me that you want to start learning Kundalini in order to stay with us. Our main aim here is welcoming travellers. If you're a yogi already, then we have that in common and it's cool. If you don't, you're still a human, and that's really all that matters. If you have a real interest in community living, we love you already - although it doesn't mean that you can just move into the guest room permanently. If all you're really looking for is a couch to crash, then be upfront about it. Anyway, that's my advice.
Finally, about references, I don't see them as brownie points or badges of honour to collect. If our meeting was long enough that it made an impression, chances are I'll give you a reference sooner or later. If we spoke for 3 minutes at the ashram's door, and you didn't even know it was me, well, you ain't getting no reference from me, even if you come back asking, and that's that!

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Eyes Wide Shut, Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner, Until the End of the World, In the Mood for Love, Mullholland Drive, Gravity...
Books: I'm currently into the Emberverse Series. Anything sci-fi will go. Tolkien changed my life. So did Neil Gaiman. And Terry Pratchett.
Music: what's music? Ok, Leonard Cohen and Pink Floyd, not necessarily in that order.
