关于我

CURRENT MISSION

Start my phd. which will be on the leftist movement in post-communist Romania.

ABOUT ME

I'm a young social activist and researcher, working in the NGO sector in Romania. I love learning about how things work (societies in particular), and I've only recently started to travel and to broaden my horizons. I enjoy talking about controversial things, and I can handle a controversial conversation in a diplomatic manner. I love talking about existence, about politics and society, and about cultures.
Also, I am a bit of a procrastinator, but I will work on it... later.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy life as much as possible, while also trying to make life more enjoyable for those around me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently i do not have a spare couch, but I'd be more than happy to show anyone around Bucharest, for a few days. I'm born and raised here, so I know a lot of cool places that are worth seeing. Also I can show you where you can chill out and have a good beer, where you can do some karaoke, or party hard!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had any... yet!

兴趣

I'd say I have 3 big interests: social activism, education and gaming.

For me social activism is really important because it lets me stay connected to my community. And living in a big-ass city like Bucharest (2mil. pop.) tends to disconnect you from any sort of feeling that you are part of a community. We are all searching in life for places where we can feel like we belong, for communities which we can say that we are a part of, for places we can call home (more or less). But nowadays it's just harder and harder to find these places. That's why I wanna do my best to make my community a more open place, where people don't have to live in fear of being discriminated against because they are a different religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or that they have a different political view and so on.

Which brings me to my second main interest, which is education. My goal is to become the best professor that I can be. I want to be the professor that I always wanted to have for myself, a person that can be a source of support and advice for young people going through difficult times. I like to use non formal education as a means of alternative learning. Because I think education can be fun. It doesn't have to make you fall flat on your face on your desk. Most of the teachers in my life were like this. That's why I like helping those around me, to offer the support that I didn't find when I was in need.

And my last main interest are computer games... pretty straight forward, this one, no need for deep stuff. I've bored you enough! The Witcher is probably my favorite game franchise. I just love all the effort those polish guys put into that game. You can feel the love and care that has gone into its production!

Instrumental music, lots of animes, and existentialist books. We can chat more about these when we meet up!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I've been part of a summer school where people from 10 different countries participated (about 60 people in total). This was one of the most amazing and enriching experiences that I've had my whole life, because it made me realize how small this world really is, and how irrelevant any sort of conflict becomes once you get to know each other.

教,学,和分享

One of the most interesting things that I've noticed while talking to people from different countries is that we interact differently from how the media portrays the relationship between cultures. In the media you see a lot of attention put on cultural differences, on conflict, while people tend to talk more about common difficulties that they encounter in every day life. I think that these sort of discussions help us realize that we're more alike than different, and it brings us closer.

我可以与沙发主分享些什么

I'm a tidy individual, always clean after myself, I leave the toilet seat down (if that ever is an issue), I'd say I'm a good cook (I make a killer lasagna), and I rarely snore (not loudly though). I've lived with groups of people before, and was usually the one trying to keep the place nice and tidy.
