About Me

⚠ Not hosting until the end of October.

Hello. :) If you want to be hosted please read "My home" tab. There's some useful info about travelling in Vilnius too! ♥

In the past few years my ambition to travel and meet people grew and grew to the point where I just had to get away from my ‚natural habitat‘ and see other places, collect new experiences. Unfortunately, this ambition of mine is not that compatable with my quite dominant introvertive side, but that doesn‘t stop me from creating the life that I want to experience. Though I want to point out that I‘m not unsocial as some people may expect from the last sentence. :) The case is the exact opposite – I do go out of my comfort zone, enjoy talking to people, having interesting conversations about many different topics and not being afraid to be silly as it‘s a sign of a healthy personality.

How I see myself in the future - working as a philosophy and ethics teacher and doing graphic design on the side. :)

As I thrive to be more conscious than yesterday everyday, I feel that I must live the life that reflects my values and my lifestyle choices do reflect that. I could go on about these topics a lot in this "About me" section, but it would be more fun and beneficial to talk about it in person. :)

Right now I aspire to finnish my bachelor's degree in philosophy and, finally, go to America with the Work and Travel USA program. After that - volunteering with Erasmus+ for a few years.

Overall, I'm a very open-minded, understanding and a caring person. It's easy to talk to me as I know how to listen and mostly I will ask you a lot of different questions to get a glimpse of your worldview and your values as it's a very important part in getting to know a person. It's not the hobbies that matter, but the value and the experience behind them that the person achieves. :)

To end this segment on a fun note - here are my 3 guilty pleasures that most people wouldn't even guess me having:
- I've become obsessed with Beyonce in the past two years and I jam to her music everyday. Even though some people view her music as being superficial I'd disagree with that by saying that I find a lot within myself during the hours of listening to certain songs.
- If I could, I'd probably spend 70% of my time building and designing houses on The Sims 4. Some days that's exactly what I do, yikes.
- I believe that there aren't that many people who are as big of a fan of Harry Potter as I am. If you are - hi, friend! ♥

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Most leaflets, like "Sightseeing in Berlin" or "Must see places in Vilnius" are not the kind of help I'd lean on while trying to make the best of my trips as they contain basic information about the most popular buildings and places. So that's why I'm on CS - I believe that locals can show the best, secret and magical places in the city when, most likely, you won't ever hear about them from a tour gide. :) It's also a great way to interact with people from other countries, make friends from all over the world while saving a penny or two.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books | There was a time when I have been a huge bookworm and I would've read a book a day, but now I dedicate my time to other activities, though there are some books that just stood out to me a lot. I hope to start reading more again in the future.

Music | I listen to most of the genres that are out there, from gothic rock to classics, from singing poetry to electronic music. Some of the artists (most of them are lithuanian):
Abbi, Mac Demarco, Mumiy Troll, The Frozen Autumn, Tame Impala, Šiaurės Kryptis, Underoath, Alina Orlova, Bob Marley, Fingalick, Lana Del rey, Pieno Lazeriai, Siela, Queen, Garbanotas Bosistas, Foje, Depeche Mode, Atika, ba., Type O Negative, Cigarettes After Sex, Massive Attack, The White Stripes, Vanilla, Saetia, Nouvelle Vague, Flume, Brendan Perry, Dead Can Dance, Joy Division, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Whitesnake, St. Vincent, Kино, Alien Sex Fiend, Daft Punk, Norah Jones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Freaks On Floor, Saulius Mykolaitis. And, despite the hate these series get, I really enjoy listening to the whole Twilight Saga soundtrack. Don't like the movie - it's fine, but the soundtrack is somewhat amazing and unique.

Movies | Virgin Suicides, Address Unknown, Graves of the Butterflies, Adaptation; 3-Iron; Another Happy Day; Harry Potter; Kill Your Darlings; Mary and Max; Princess Mononoke; Sing Street; Lost in Translation; The Grand Budapest Hotel; Minimalism - a Documentary about the Important Things; Love and Death; Me and Earl and the Dying Girl; Trainspotting; The Science of Sleep; The Man Who Fell to Earth; Coffee and Cigarettes and most of the classics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sadly, there's not much, at least for others perception. I'd say that I became a second mother to my baby sister as I spent most of my time raising her during her first years of life.

And met Queen Silvia of Sweden, all of the family and other leading people. A not-so-but-still-crazy story I could tell you about. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I call myself a Renaissance person - I'm somehow just capable of doing things and figuring out what's and how's. If you need any help with computers, like doing a very nice looking Powerpoint presentation, etc., or crafts, or photography skills, or

I'm very into a zero-waste and minimalist lifestyle so I can tell you a lot of tips and tricks on how to reduce your plastic consumption, how to reduce the amount of trash piling up in your trash bin by changing your everyday habits and choices and how to make it a fun proccess! And what benefits can give a minimalist lifestyle.

Continuing with the minimalism topic - whenever I travel I only take one backpack - and it's not even intended for long travels! To do that you have to learn to let go of unnecessary stuff and take just the most important things. I can definitely share my experience on achieving this.

One of my favourite hobbies is looking for the cheapest flight tickets possible. I've learned it through practice and I could really help you with planning your next budget trip! For an example - 150 euros for a whole week in London for TWO people. And everything included. Don't think it's possible? I can prove you wrong by shareing my know-hows!

Also, I'm a quite good cook. Right now I'm following a specific - ketogenic - diet, but I still remember how to make the perfect roasted potatoes! And many vegan recipes if you're interested. :) Not vegan anymore though after 3 years of eating this way and I believe this would be an interesting topic to talk about too.

I can dye your hair too! :D

So if you need any help with these things I'd be happy to help and share my ideas!

And I'd like to learn anything that you can offer in exchange! Open to a lot of ideas. :)
