About Me

Hello everyone!!

I'm Savannah and I was born and raised in sunny California! I've been traveling ever since I was a young kid and now that I just finished college in record time, I'm aiming to take a gap year(s) to explore the world while I'm still young and healthy. I want to discover and truly understand other cultures.

To quote the great Mark Twain, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sail. Explore. Dream. Discover."

I don't want to be disappointed by not living life, so I'm here. Sun's out, Guns out. Let's live life.

First up, Australia!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing in order to meet new people that will help me better connect to the cities and countries I am visiting. I want to explore and see the city/country through the eyes of locals and/or knowledgeable travelers. I want to explore, dream, discover, and make memories to last me until my old age.

Interests

*Traveling (I've had the travel bug since I was young.)
*Eating & Drinking (food is the love of my life.)
*Dancing (I like to let loose and shake my booty from time to time.)
*Filming (I majored in film. I would grow extremely depressed without it.)
*Exploring (Take me off the beaten path and I'm a happy woman.)
*Hiking, Yoga, Swimming, Snorkeling, Scuba Diving, Rock Climbing (Basically sports that put me in touch with nature.)
*Cooking (When I'm feeling down or in a zen state, I resort to cooking up entire meals, but I would be happy to make food whenever. I can make a mean lasagna, chicken adobo, or chicken lime soup with toffee to eat after!)
*Movies (I LOVE movies!)
*Oh, and I love a good party, too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Hmm, I can't choose just one. I'll just say that I love rock music across the board. However, when it's time to let loose, I throw on some Rap and Hip Hop.

Movies: Ohhhhh man. Where to begin? Where to begin....Well my top three are super girly. I love Titanic, Atonement, and The Notebook. But...I pretty much adore all of Baz Luhrmann's and Christopher Nolan's films. Baz for his vividly colored films and Chris for his intellectual masterpieces. To sum it all up, my movie collection at home is pretty extensive for my age.

Books: I am a child at heart so I do own a lot of YA books.....and I'm not ashamed! But I also love the classics like Jane Eyre and A Tale of Two Cities.

TV: I'm throwing in TV shows as well because it is the next important thing to discuss. I am down for some Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, Black Sails, Penny Dreadful, and Outlander reruns. Guilty pleasure wise....and I SWEAR I never watch other reality shows....but I love Geordie Shore. Coming from the US, it is hilarious to watch.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'd say the most amazing thing I've done in my life is spend a month in Ireland with my best friend. It was incredible and such a learning experience. I had never been exploring that much, or that long, in my life. I truly got a sense of the character that is Ireland.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, England, France, Ireland, Italy, Mexico

Countries I’ve Lived In
