About Me

I am a housewife who loves to travel.
I like to travel with my kids.

I would like to show my children various worlds and make memories of trips with my children while raising them.
There are 47 prefectures in Japan, and I am taking on the challenge of traveling to all 47 prefectures with my children. We've just traveled to 40 prefectures.

My eldest son is 11 years old and likes sports and cooking.

My second son is 7 years old and likes drawing and origami.
They are energetic, curious, and friendly.

My husband likes ramen and anime. I don't eat ramen, so ask my husband about it. There are several famous ramen restaurants in Nagaoka.

I like karaoke. In Japan, there is a culture of "solo karaoke", and sometimes I enjoy it. I mainly sing Japanese pop songs. I'm also practicing English songs.

I join this community because I would like to make friends not only in Japan but also in other countries around the world.

☆Notice☆

If you would like to make a request to our house, please read all of ″Aboue Me″ and ″Read More″ and please write "Shiratama" in the header and send us a message explaining why you would like to stay at our house.

Please request at least 2 days in advance.

You can stay in our house for a maximum of 2 nights.

Smoking is prohibited in our house. Smokers are not allowed to stay.

About the location
20 minutes by bus from Nagaoka Station.
It's a 5-minute walk from the bus stop to my house. Once your stay is decided, I will send you a map of my house a few days before your stay, so you can come yourself. On the way back, you can also use the bus, train or hitchhiking.

5 minutes walk to the convenience store.
5 minutes walk to the supermarket.
5 minutes walk to bus stop.

Summer in Nagaoka is very hot.
We don't have air conditioner in our house. Requests in July, August and September should be made with the understanding that there is no air conditioner. However, there is an electric fan, so please use it.

During the Nagaoka Fireworks period (August 1st to August 3rd), only my friends can stay. The person who hosted me before can stay.

I speak a little bit of English, but not very fluently. My husband and children only speak Japanese.

We don't host December, January, February or March.

If you would like to stay on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, please have dinner, take a shower and turn off the lights by 9pm.
On those days, my husband and children leave early in the morning the next day, so I want you to be quiet when they go to bed. They leave around 8 in the morning, so make sure you leave by that time too.
This does not apply to those who would like to stay on Fridays, Saturdays and the day before public holidays.

We don't eat out much. So let's cook and eat together at least once during your stay.
We are interested in foreign cuisine, so we would be very happy if you could cook your country's cuisine for us.

Please don't think of our home as free accommodation. We need to pay for the extra water or electricity you use for you.
So please do what you can for us, what you are good at.
And after meals, please do the dishes for everyone.
It's all about the spirit of sharing.
This is not the case for those who have hosted me before. I will host you in the same way that you did to me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

From my experience of traveling, I know how grateful it is for travelers to be able to take a shower and keep out the wind and rain. Each person has a different purpose and method of traveling, so I want to know what other people think about their travels.
