Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope to travel the world someday and couchsurfing helps meet new people and have different experiences. I love hearing stories from travellers, knowing their interests. People inspire me, one way or another.

Interests

Predominantly I would say Football , reading , travelling, technology, cooking.

I am a ChelseaFC fan and I am always up for discussing football/soccer

I have interest in the innovations happening in the information technology sphere and its not just my profession, but passion.

Good food turns me on ;) I love to make my own. I absolutely love sitting lazily in Cafes for a long idle conversation and watching people around .

Sometimes my interests evolve. I learnt Salsa and Bachata basics 3 years back and was crazy about it. But then I got busy in other things. I meet people and when their passions interest me, I try a hand at that. Always !

Music, Movies, and Books

All of them. Depends on the state of mind. Sometimes I binge watch TV shows !

Favourite movies : Fight Club, The Shawshank Redemption, Inglorious Basterds, Django unchained , 12 Angry Men, Forrest Gump, Snatch

Few of my favourite shows would be Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Orange is The New Black, House of Cards, Gotham !

I enjoy foreign language movies as much as the English classics. Understanding a movie through sub-titles doesn't bother me. Movies like ' Dersu uzala' and 'Incendies' made me realise how much I could miss out if I do not watch foreign movies

I enjoy any good Music. I have a number of classics in my playlist I fall back to when I am deciding my music. Otherwise, the playlist is always chosen by the host or my friends.

I keep reading Bengali Literature and we have quite a collection. For English, its mostly limited to fiction , biographies and travel experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I quit my high paying job to be at home with my parents for 6 months. Because they really missed me. That was 9 years after I left home. During those 9 years, the longest I had stayed at home was for a month, once. And in the last 5 years of those 9, I had met my mom 5 times and dad, just 4.

I guess it is not really something amazing. But my mom certainly thinks so.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to cook Indian cuisine.
I can teach basic 'Asanas' that will get you started on the right track if you are interested in this. I also do meditations but I am not qualified to teach it. Again, I could show you the way.
P.S. Asana is not Yoga, rather a part of it.

I would love to learn other ways of life, cultures and different practices. I wish to learn different languages and want to be able to know how to blend into different cultures. Actually there isn't anything I don't want to learn.
