About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To eat, laugh, sleep and enjoy.

ABOUT ME

I used to be a shy person, but now I realized that life is too short for me to waste time on being shy. So I'm trying to become someone easy to talk with. My friends described me as being humorous, witty, but a bit lazy.
I have many interests, or in other words, I have interest in everything challenging. My biggest interest are travelling and learning languages. Travelling is my passion because I love the experience of meeting new people and learning new culture. I also enjoy learning new languages and exploring the difference between languages, since I'm majoring in Linguistics right now. I've also tried to learn Spanish and Hindi. I think speaking the language will help me when I'm travelling in that country.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in living every moment and having no regret. I think the most tragic thing in the world is to have regret for the past.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think couchsurfing is a great way to experience the place and to meet with locals. I believe that locals always have interesting stories to tell about the place they live in. And through their stories, I can see the city with a different eye.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before going to study in Germany, I've only hosted several times in Tainan. They're mostly great experiences. I got to talk to different people and share their stories. Although sometimes I was too busy that I had no chance to have a proper chat with them.

And during my one year in Germany, I traveled quite a lot in Europe (and outside Europe as well :P), so I had more opportunities to be a couchsurfer. It was always a lot of fun spending time with my hosts. It really made a big different to my trips!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I like thriller or drama more, but once in a while I watch action or comedy, just to relax myself. Some of my favorites are--Rent, United 93, Hotel Rwanda, Once, We need to talk about Kevin, Revolutionary Road, die Welle, Center Stage, etc...

TV Series: The Killing, Sherlock, Ugly Betty, TBBT, Modern Family, Suits, Game of Thrones

Music: I don't really have a favorite kind of music. I listen to whatever music that fits my mood. Some of my favorite singers are: Enno, Sodagreen, Eason Chan, Glen Hansard...

Musical: I think I like musicals more than music, cuz it combines music and theater performance. Here're some of my favorite musicals or musicals that I want to see in the future: Rent, Les Miz, Elisabeth, Wicked, Once, Notre Dame de Paris

Books: Lately I don't read books so often, probably because I don't have so much time (or simply because I'm too lazy :P) I read books mostly when I'm traveling, cuz then I have a lot of time to kill. Here are some of my favorites--Plain Truth, To Kill a Mockingbird, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, books by Agatha Christie, detective stories by Keigo Higashino, Harry Potter

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*Spending a week at a turtle conservation center and a small island with no phone signal to contact the outside world: I went to Arnavon in Solomon Islands and saw baby sea turtles hatched from the eggs and helped their way back to the ocean. It was amazing to see the little turtles struggling their way back and swimming for the first time.

*Seeing the sunrise on the mountain of Nepal: During my trip to Nepal, I spend five days doing trekking. On the third day, we got up early to climb to Poonhill for the sunrise. Before the sunrise, the clear sky with countless stars took my breath away. Then, when the sun rised from the snowy mountain, the view was really magnificient!

*Spending a night in the desert: I spend a night camping in the black&white desert in Egypt. Saw cute foxes stealing our food and slept under the starry sky (well okay... the weather wasn't so nice, so there were very few stars...) but still it's an amazing experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I like cooking a lot. So I can teach you some Chinese cooking. Or if you're not interested in learning, I can simply cook you the food :) I can also teach you some fascinating Chinese characters. There are some Chinese characters that were built according to a very interesting logic.

Learn: I've learn German and Hindi before, so I'd like to practice them if possible. I also want to learn traditional cuisine from your country or how to bake cookies or cakes.
