About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to experience different cultures and meet like-minded people

ABOUT ME

I love to travel and meet new people, share adventure stories and swap ideas for future travel. I am an amateur artist, using watercolors and acrylics mostly, but always open to new mediums and techniques. I have a husband, 4 grown children, 2 daughter-in-laws and 3 grandchildren. I belong to 2 book clubs that read a wide assortment of fiction and non-fiction.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy new experiences, be flexible when things don't go the way you planned and express your love to someone every day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Would like to start by offering to meet people passing through or living in my area by sharing a cup of coffee, but an open to couchsurfing requests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just had my first experience as a couchsurfing guest in Fairbanks, AK with Gayle Hazen and her family. A great introduction: friendly folks, comfortable room/beds, info. about the area and shared artistic pursuits. I have also stayed with families in Guatemala and Mexico while studying Spanish - one of my best experiences was helping to make a "carpet" in Antigua, GUA, during Semana Santa.

Interests

traveling, drawing, painting, learning Spanish, reading, enjoying my kids and grandkids, learning new things, volunteering with adults and kids to learn English and/or art

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Holding each of my children after I gave birth to them (les doy la luz). Seeing my grandson, Benjamin, with his proud papa (my son) and tender mama (d-i-l) right after he was born.
Visiting many of our National Parks, especially Mt. Rainier, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and touring the beautiful Pacific Ocean coastline from Alaska to California (turning a corner and seeing beach, cliff and ocean.
