Hi there! I'm a second-year college student at the University of Florida majoring in advertising with a passion for expression as a whole. I've wanted to travel ever since I learned it was possible to do it on a low budget in high school. I love music of most genres and about a year ago I began hula-hooping as a flow art and love it. I also enjoy drawing/painting, but I really have to be in the mood for it. My sense of humor knows few bounds, if any, and good cinematography warms my heart. I am also an avid promoter of equality for all people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I've always wanted to travel and it seemed like a great alternative to hotels - for the budget and the people. My interest was sparked by the small towns I would visit around Florida as my parents moved around to sell pottery. Joining in 2017, there would appear to be more fees than I recall reading about in my research, so I am not yet verified, and I will wait to do so until someone tells me they won't host me unless I am - primarily because I am a poor college student. Music, Movies, and Books

Music genres I enjoy include rock, alternative, indie, rap, pop, pop-punk, classic, classic rock, EDM, etc. I listen to most genres and find it's more about the artist themselves. When it comes to movies I also love every genre, particularly comedy, action and horror. Movies with great plot twists or cinematography have a special place in my heart. Some that I love off of the top of my head are The Double (Jessie Eisenberg), LaLaLand, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Scott Pilgrim VS the World.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow, this is tough. I'd say one amazing thing I've done is getting accepted to work on advnt: a portfolio for advertising students at the University of Florida that addressed the creative process. Writing essays for this book that covered topics familiar to all creatives was a real blast - even better than actually holding the completed published copy in my hands. It was also completely developed and fund-raised for by students, and as volume 1 it was quite the learning process.

Teach, Learn, Share

I personally could help teach painting and drawing basics, as well as some neat hula-hooping tricks. I'd love to share music, movie recommendations, and anything else I can think of! I'd love to learn anything honestly. More than anything I'd love to learn about food, yoga, local hot spots and anything related to dance!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share tips and tricks for drawing and hula-hooping (lots of people don't know this is a dance/flow art). I can also (kinda) juggle, so I can try to entertain or teach that as well. I'd love to share music and movie recommendations - between my boyfriend and I we know a lot of those. I'm no chef, but I wouldn't mind trying to make dinner or desert as well!
