I’m passionate about sustainable living, ecological civilization, the gift economy, and eco-communities, and I’m learning to live this way myself. For five years, I worked with Indigenous peoples in Tibet and Mongolia. Later, I built a courtyard home in a small village and lived the life I had dreamed of. Once that dream came true, I set off again to explore the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It was only much later that I realized how uncommon it is in modern society to open one’s home and welcome strangers. To be able to do so requires a love for human diversity and the ability to enjoy the joy that comes from sharing. And what kind of relationships can emerge from this kind of interaction, one that involves no money at all?

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m a great listener and always enjoy deep conversations. But if you’d rather hear me talk, I can share stories from my time in Tibet, Mongolia, and my little courtyard home. I love music and dance, sharing beautiful songs, and creating music with friends through improvisation (though I only play a bit of piano, guqin, and simple flute). I also enjoy improvisational dance, and I’m a swing dancer as well.
