About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Rock out like the mangoes are in season, rock out like the record player won't skip, rock out like this is the last weekend, like these were the last words, like you don't ever want to forget how.-Anis Mojgani
ABOUT ME
I am the guy having the animated conversation you can hear from two tables over at the restaurant you like to go to.
I enjoy long, random, sprawling conversations without boundaries or taboo subjects, and I like when people get passionate about little things in said conversations. I have just started riding a bike more often, and am working on making that a bigger part of my life. I read a lot, and love talking about books, music, movies, or other media. I enjoy good food and good booze. You can work most things out over a glass of whisky.
I also pride myself on really Being happy. Time and time again I find that my attitude affects the world I live in, and resolving to be "one of those glass-half-full people" makes day-to-day life better, even when times are kinda crappy.
PHILOSOPHY
They may be cliché, but a core of honesty, kindness, rationality, open-mindedness, and a general love of existence guide my life. Obviously, these easier to list than to attain, but when I remember to strive for them, I feel my life goes as well as it could. I am both a perfectionist and an optimist: I want to find the absolute best and most extraordinary in myself and others, and always look for the next best thing, be it concretely in front of me or off in my imagination.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't done any hosting yet, but I've hung out with the Denver couchsurfing mixer crowd a couple times, and I've surfed in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, StL, and Hurricane, UT. All were wonderful, and while I didn't end up doing any surfing in SE Asia when I headed over there, I'm looking forward to some international surfing in the near future!
Interests
I love books, music you can dance to, music you can't dance to but sounds great when you sit and listen to it, watching sports, people-watching, hiking, biking, admiring nature's wonder, cooking food, eating food, trying new food, drinking interesting beverages both alcoholic and non, yelling, wandering around, dancing, singing, whistling

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have stood on top of a mountain, looked around in all directions and seen nothing but more mountains. That feeling amazes me each time it occurs.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have studied Whisky extensively, especially the Canadian varieties. As a native Coloradan, I also know a bit about beer. I love books and movies, but more importantly, I've made a habit of studying them and discussing them, and can do so for longer than most people consider healthy. These things happen. I've been riding my bike a lot lately, and tinkering with another bike, so I'm plenty interested in bike maintenance and touring.
