About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to be accepting and loving no matter what I'm doing or where I am. I love people and they are my passion.

ABOUT ME

I love life. Yep, I really do. I don't slow down too much. I've had to overcome alot to get where I am. I love being a nurse and working with people. I was raised dirt poor, but somehow managed to gain a love for the broader world through books. At the age of fifteen, I started traveling out of my homeland, and I love it.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in living a life of love and acceptance. My beliefs and philosophies fuel my love for people. However, my beliefs don't require others to believe the same. I accept others for who they are...Muslim, Christian, Catholic, Atheist, or whatever. I think we all have something to learn from each other. The day I stop learning is the day I die.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Several years ago an ex-girlfriend mentioned couch surfing in our last conversation ever. However unpleasant that conversation was, it was my first introduction to the concept of Couch Surfing. Anyway, it sounded like a great way to travel around and get to know people and life as it really is in different regions. Since that conversation, I've couch surfed in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and NYC. I have hosted an amazing French couple, and I can't wait to make more international friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed with three different hosts, and have been blown away by the kindness and generosity of each. They have opened my eyes to different perspectives and values.

Interests

I love sports, reading, science, philosophy, and getting to know individuals as they really are. I crave anything that's authentic.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read all the classics as a kid. There were about two months when I was a kid that my mom refused to take me to the library because she thought I was addicted to reading. I consumed every book in the house including her nursing text books and "christian romance novels." Yeah, I was desperate. I enjoy movies as well. I love Jim Carrey! I treasure movies like Stand by Me, Empire of the Sun, The Professional, The Matrix, Short Circuit, E.T., Conspiracy Theory, The Goonies, and on and on and on. Music! Don't even get me started. If you wanna know, ask me. I'll tell you all about it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've experience quite a bit, but I don't know if you'd find any of it amazing. I've seen some things I'll never forget through traveling in Haiti, Africa, and South America. I will say that an amazing thing I've seen is the incredible kindness and acceptance of other CSers. They are some of the best people on earth.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love trying to explain some concepts of quantum physics. I think the theories are fascinating. I used to work at a Children's science museum, so I can explain a broad range of concepts fairly simply. I can also teach you how to talk like a Texan. If it's winter and you're in the mood for an adventure, I'd love to show you how to snowboard.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Physically, I can share food and drinks, or a hug if you've had the worst day ever. Mentally, I can share my own experiences and perspectives as well as listen to you own. Spiritually, I can share a connection with you that is accepting and loving. Isn't that what we need as we humans coexist on this planet?

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Haiti, Honduras, Malawi, Nicaragua, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Venezuela

Countries I’ve Lived In
