About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet your neighbor, eat your yard!

ABOUT ME

My Dad used to always tell me to go outside. Sometimes I reluctantly went. Then I grew up. Now I look forward to going outside, everyday. I tend to my edible garden. I play lots of volleyball. I like fixing repairable objects. I make bookmarks, granola bars, and pumpkin soup. I make other things too. I tend to get caught up in things, usually for the better.

PHILOSOPHY

Be fluid. Be electric.

Interests

Yoga, gardening, photographing, volleyball, simplifying things, giving random gifts, making friends with old people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

the stars in the Australian Outback, followed by a road-train approaching from the horizon and blasting past at midnight in the desert.

Teach, Learn, Share

The Yahi tribe believed that they originated from a hole in the ground. And that when a person died, their body was rapidly transported through a hole in the ground, where they would be resurrected in a totally new place.

Ishi, of the Yahi tribe, was considered to be the last Native American in California. His tribe was nearly wiped out during the Three Knolls Massacre, and those who survived hid in the wilderness. He emerged from the wilderness one-day, and some people in the town he came into were concerned about him. So the constable on patrol took him into custody.

What happened next was amazing. They put him on a train and transported him to Berkley, CA. All the while he was moving very fast, through train tunnels (holes in the ground), and eventually being in a developed city, surrounded by people studying him. So in his eyes, this was what happens when you die...happening while he was still alive. As the last surviving Yahi, it's the perfect ending for their belief system.

How awesome is that!?!
