Overview
About Me
I'm a 60ish adventuresome, playful spirit who enjoys people and loves traveling. I’m currently between jobs and enjoying travel and exploring.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting and getting to know new people. Travel teaches us about ourselves, others, and the world around us. To me the wonders of travel and adventure are made more complete and enriching to the extent they are shared with others, so I want to meet others while traveling and meet fellow travelers by hosting.
(In case it matters: I am an open and engaging person, but am not looking for a romantic relationship or physical hookup. I can provide character references from female friends if that is an issue and would be reassuring regarding any hesitations about hosting or staying with me.)
Interests
Meeting and enjoying people. Hiking, biking, skiing and being outdoors. New adventures: travel, new people, new experiences. Learning. Innovating. Reading. Live music: folk/acoustic. I'm learning to play Ukulele. I write a lot (journaling).

Music, Movies, and Books
They say the music you listened to when you were 20 becomes your "go to," which seems true for me: Joni Mitchell, Dylan, Jackson Browne, Bruce Cockburn, James Taylor, etc. Also world music and gypsy jazz. I'm a regular supporter of small-venue live music.
I watch a lot of movies, pretty much any genres except horror and adolecent-male-oriented comedy.
I read quite a bit: good fiction, personal growth, spirituality and some science and healthcare strategy (my area of geekiness).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Played bagpipes with 9000 other pipers in the NYC 9/11 first-anniversary memorial parade in NYC, marshaled by Sean Connery. Several months ago I was an extra in the filming of a movie dance scene and got to spend an afternoon several feet away from Robert Redford and Jane Fonda (Our Souls at Night, due to be released this year by Netflix).
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy sharing life through conversation with others: getting to know other people, other places, and other cultures.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm happy to cook or take you out for a meal. I can share an excitement about life and the possibilities the future holds. I'm fairly handy with household repairs or chores. As a former Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 20 thousand hours of therapy given, I'm a good listener and helper at looking at life differently.
