About Me

I love to travel. I am usually traveling with my lovely partner, Isabella and I have two great kids in their twenties who I visit often along with my relatives in Canada. I am retired but used to own an Internet business that sells dog collars and leashes and some cat stuff too. I worked on marketing and tech support via the Internet so I didn’t have a real office or even a desk. I am very curious and open-minded and love to learn and explore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For the most part, I hope to meet people that live in the countries I am visiting. Once I've decided on a destination, I don't plan ahead very far and like to let things unfold a day at a time. Some of my best trips have been because of the people I met while traveling. I hope that couchsurfing will help me quickly connect with people that enjoy helping and meeting others.

Interests

I love to travel. I have my skipper's license to sail so every year or so I rent a sailboat somewhere in the world and invite family and friends to join me on an adventure for a week or two. Our last sailing holiday was around the Cyclades in Greece. I ski for about six weeks a year in the western part of USA; Utah and Colorado for the last couple of years. I used to camp a lot and am starting again. I hiked and camped in Utah this year, and I am doing a week or two on the Appalachian Trail this month with some friends who are in the middle of doing the whole length! I love to read just about anything but my favs are sci-fi, fantasy, spy/detective, and historical fiction. I am a foodie and will eat just about anything from street food to fine dining. When visiting a city the highlight is often the places I eat. I like art, theater, music and museums but am not an authority on any.
