About Me

I am a divorced father of four wonderful children. My oldest son graduated from Appalachian State in Boone, NC and is currently in Colorado. My oldest daughter is a senior at College of Charleston. I have a 12 year old daughter and 10 year old son living in Charleston. I have been an environmental engineer for 27 years and have a consulting business. My two youngest children have many health and special needs and that has had a tremendous impact on my life. I recently became an insurance agent to help others deal with major health concerns. I have a strong spirituality and family that is my foundation in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel a great deal for work now. My oldest son has been on a similar site and has taken the opportunity to visit many areas and meet new people. He has opened my eyes to couchsurfing. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about the best of the area from the locals.

Interests

I enjoy staying fit. I run and bike. I enjoy tennis and golf too. I love to hike in nature...state parks, mountains, anywhere I can just enjoy the beauty of God's creation. I love the beach and running on the beach. I love to watch sunsets with a good glass of wine.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to country music, classic rock, and enjoy Christian music too. I enjoy sci/fi and action movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked the profile trail at Grandfather Mountain with my oldest son who is a hiking guide in Colorado. He was amazed his "old man" was in such good shape and had no problem with one of the toughest trails on the mountain!

Teach, Learn, Share

Stay positive and allow God to work good for others through you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very courteous and respectful of my hosts. I am very easy going, easy to talk to, and appreciate the simple things in life. I want to help out however possible...fix something if needed, be a running buddy, or just a good listener.
