To immerse myself in a new life in Canada for a year

ABOUT ME

I've spent the last five months living in Thailand, spending most of that time in a charming little town on the Burmese border called Sangkhlaburi, helping a friend with her aid project and teaching juggling classes to children for a couple of crazy Italians who run a performing arts programme here for disadvantaged kids. Throw a month of Thai kickboxing up north and some island partying in to that mix and its been a hell of a ride. Now on to Canada where I plan to set up life for a year, enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that the place is so known for, and work towards my long-term dream of saving up enough money to buy an old American motorcycle and spend summer 2012 riding it down whichever North American roads I happen to find myself facing.

Interests

Music in most of its forms, outdoors living, reading and writing, mountain-biking, riding motorcycles down long winding country roads, cooking, kickboxing, beer and wine and whiskey, learning random things off random people.

Music - Where to start? Currently Gil Scott-Heron's last album, Drive-By Truckers, eDit, and Greg Dulli's music past and present.

Books - The Great Gatsby, much of Hermann Hesse's work, Hunter S. Thompson and Kerouac to name some obvious choices.
