ABOUT ME

I'm from Texas.

A few years ago my girlfriend and I decided to ditch the US for the greener pastures of Beijing, China. It turned out to be smoggy and cold (but a great time!) and we settled/ranoutofmoneyin/crashlanded into Bangkok after tromping around China and SE Asia for a while. That was a year ago.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in a large apartment in the middle of Bangkok. You can sleep in my living room and I'll show you things around Bangkok.

My roommates are my girlfriend, my sister (pixiepeanut on CS -- best do your booking through her), and my erstwhile Aussie roommate who we rarely see.

My sister wanted to start doing this, and I figured I'd throw up a profile so I could get good karma bumps along the way. Like I said, refer to her for bookings.

I enjoy eating. no joke.

Music, Movies, and Books

i've only met one person who told me that he "didn't like music" and i'm pretty sure he was fucking with me. yeah, music is great. i like all kinds and get real nerdy about collecting and organizing it via the interwebs.

favorite tv shows are Arrested Development, The Wire, Firefly, Freaks and Geeks and Breaking Bad.

favorite authors are Tom Robbins, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Haruki Murakami and Bill Watterson. Bill Bryson is also great. I'm generally a fan of books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got food poisoning while climbing Mt. St. Helen's when I was 14 and slid down on my butt, puking the whole way. That may sound shitty, but the descent was really fun.

Teach, Learn, Share

i can cook a couple of things really well, particularly green curry.

general knowledge i've gleaned about the region, i'm happy to pass on what i've learned of customs, history, religion, sightseeing and the like.

i invented a really fun drinking game.
