About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am a citizen of the world. I am here to experience life, create and participate in relationships.

ABOUT ME

I am an adventurer who likes to spontaneously travel. I have been known to take a 3 month job in Honduras and stay 3 years or move to a part of the country where I know no one and make a go of it. I have been fortunate in my choice of jobs in that I have been exposed to loads of people from all over the world. I manage to keep in touch with them over the years also. I took a trip to New Zealand in 2006 and was fortunate enough to hook up with people that I had worked with in the late 80s and early 90s. I enjoy travel for travel sake and have managed to get jobs that are not only socially responsible but allow me to travel. I want to know more about what makes the world go round.

PHILOSOPHY

Live like you were dying!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new so I am not sure yet. However, as I mentioned I tend to be a citizen of the world and helping other citizens find themselves through exploration and experiences is what I hope to do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have spent a large part of my life doing community development work overseas. Ergo, I have stayed in many homes in many cultures throughout the world. One of the most memorable was sleeping on a 2 by 6 plank on a dirt floor in the mountains of Guatemala. I woke up to the sound of the lady making tortillas with her bare hands and looked over to see a chicken roosting on the chest of my traveling companion. We ate the piping hot tortillas with some soup that the lady had made from some greens that she picked just outside the house. You never realize how useful a tortilla can be - it actually makes a great spoon.
