ABOUT ME

I am a map maker by inclination and by profession. Mostly, I help in disaster response and recovery efforts, but I also work independently on projects which follow my interests (architecture, railroads, history, particularly California and the western United States).

Kimi is a critical care nurse, artist, loves to cook and entertain, bird and nature lover. Generous with smiles and laughter and interested in the world and all the wonderful people who inhabit it.

We both are experienced conversationalists and enjoy conversing immensely. We like hanging out with people and do so often. We can be funny, but we are not jokesters (sometimes pranksters though). We delight in expanding our network of friends.

PHILOSOPHY

Everybody deserves to eat, sleep, be sheltered and loved. I am in the process of learning how to forgive and be forgiven as well as what my responsibilities are regarding giving back for all that has been given me.

We hope to open our home and hearts to those who wander our way, to be equally open to giving and receiving all that we can as good citizens of the planet!

We mostly host but we also like to surf. Busy lives sometimes get in the way of participating more often, but we do the best we can

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We had the opportunity to surf in California and Colorado and were hosted with such gusto that we truly count both experiences as blessings! We have also been able to host multiple travelers, each experience better than the one before and have been delighted with our guests humor, insight and at times wonderful musical talents!

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Comedies are high on my list for movies. Music now is John Mayer, Leonard Cohen, Beethoven, and Dvorak. I just recently watched A Man for All Seasons, Thank You for Smoking, and Juno, if that illuminates my taste for you. KIMI is a baseball lover, bird watcher and belongs to a book club in its 10th year and 100th book read!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Sean founded, built and operated an NPR/Community radio station. Had a personal audience with the Dalai Lama.

Kimi was lifted over the city of Madrid on a fire truck ladder, has spent the night on a boat in Bay of Islands New Zealand listening to the kiwis and possums call, enjoys the AMAZING light show on the red rocks of Wilson Mountain every evening from our front porch!
