About Me

TRAVEL PHILOSOPHY

My conviction is that we're in this world without a reason. Not in a pessimistic way, but in the most optimistic way you could imagine. Because when there's no reason, there's no goal, and there's no obligation to reach such a goal. This implicates a limitless freedom, in the sense that there should be no practical issues stopping you from what you really want to do. But this freedom is also linked to a responsibility, since one's freedom ends there where another one's freedom begins.
I try to live by these principles, but I often notice that I'm still afraid of the unknown in some sense, sadly. But I keep pushing myself to go beyond familiar things, and whenever I did in the past, I have never regretted it. In fact, they have been the best times of my life.
Following this, I get stressed by planning travels too much in advance, while I'm totally at ease doing impulsive things and deciding the last moment what I'm going to do.
Travelling in India I discovered that I'm really flexible and that I can really adjust to nearly any given situation/environment.

SOCIETY VIEWS

I am a convinced anti-capitalist. I wouldn't call myself a communist, but I do believe in a world where there's more solidarity, humanity, unselfishness, ecology. Unfortunately that world doesn't exist at the moment... I'm not claiming that I can change the world as it is, but I am convinced that not trying is the biggest mistake anyone could make. So I try to live according to my principles and speak my voice at given opportunities.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Going to Sziget-festival in Hungary on my own. I loved to go somewhere totally on my own because it provides you an enormous level of freedom. But I like to travel anyhow, alone or with other people.
- Traveling for about a month in India on my own, talking to random strangers and NOT getting raped.
- Spending approximately 40 hours of a weekend on a train to Warsawa to go to the COP14 climate manifestation. Including discussions but also crazy parties on the train and platform.

In general the impulsive things are most worthwhile. Because they're not defined by expectation, they can't possibly dissapoint.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have some basic guitar skills, so I could teach you that. I have some basic (or more advanced) knwoledge of some languages (see: languages), so maybe you might take an interest in that.
