ABOUT ME

I'm not necessarily a traveler but I travel very long distances to experience life in new places as a local. I meet the people who live in those places and those who come to visit. Hotels, temples and palaces are pretty much the same everywhere .... people are not. I enjoy getting involved in the routines of different cultures in the countries I stay in and I volunteer for charities when I can. I am interested in people, their stories and different perspectives about life. Each new friend opens the door to a new world. I enjoy bringing out the best in people.

Food is important and I love sharing it with friends..
I have oceans of interest in life and everything that goes on in it.

Sometimes I am able to actively participate. I try to host in the different countries where I stay for long periods. I may be in your city and contact you for a visit, or we can meet for a drink or a meal.

I love to browse second hand shops, street markets, wet markets, and pazars, bazaars, mercados and pasarayas.
I am a passionately curious person, I am born to explore and I love to laugh!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

During our circumnavigation I did an ocean voyage in our boat thru the Indian Ocean in the 'off season'.... We crossed the Mediterranean from Turkiye to Egypt . .. after the transit through the Suez Canal and southward through the Red Sea to Richards Bay, South Africa. The voyage to South Africa with anchoring stops along the Egyptian coast, Eritrea, and Djbouti ...
Off the Somali coast we beat to weather up to 40ft swells.. A living nightmare for a first voyage ... I understand well about survival and the voyage from hell.
