I am a student at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri studying International Business as well as Spanish and Urban Poverty Studies. I am currently in my second year of school and I am studying abroad in the spring in Rome. I am originally from Park Ridge, Illinois which is a suburb just outside of Chicago. I grew up in a big family with 15 cousins all living in the same town as me, so family and community is something that I hold near to my heart. At SLU I work as a student ambassador in the office of admission giving tours and helping in the recruiting efforts of prospective students. Some other things that I am involved in are SLU Wishmakers, which is an extension of the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the state of Missouri, the Micah Program, which is a Learning community centered around faith and service, and the MLK Scholars Program which advocates for social justice and social change.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a big believer in stepping outside of your comfort zone and challenging yourself. I feel that I will definitely be doing this while I am studying abroad in Rome next semester. Having only been to Ireland and parts of the UK so far with regards to traveling, I have never actually gone out and traveled on my own. I am excited about this opportunity to hopefully grow and learn more about myself as I go throughout my semester in Europe. I am on Couchsurfing because I feel as though it offers me the best opportunity to do this. Traveling alone is already a big task in and of itself, but it can be made so much more manageable with the help of others. I want to become a part of the Couchsurfing community because I feel as though it will afford me the chance to truly experience Europe in a way like no other. To actually see a country or city through the lens of a native is something that I would appreciate immensely.
