About Me

Hello! My name is Sean and I’m from the United States (specifically Massachusetts). I’m currently on a one year solo adventure around Asia mostly. I’m an extremely curious person, and I love learning about different cultures and meeting new people.

Former athlete, turned salesmen, that has decided to see the world.

Big fan of conversations on any topic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really resonate with the CS community mindset. For the most part, it seems like everyone here is interested in building connections with people from different backgrounds, and learning from one another.

I love to share stories, have a laugh, and get to know the places I am outside of the typical tourist experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

My two favorite musical genres are EDM/house and alternative/indie. Top artists include Dominic Fike, Cage the Elephant, Oliver Tree, Current Joys, Rufus Du Sol, Lost Frequencies, and Fred Again.

In terms of movies, there are too many to list but a few of my go-to's are Apocalypse Now, Lawrence of Arabia, and Interstellar.

I'm a big reader, usually switching between history and literature. Top authors include Fyodor Dostoevsky, Aldous Huxley, Joseph Conrad, and Ayn Rand. Favorite books are Kitchen Confidential (Bourdain), Big Sur (Kerouac), The Brothers Karamazov (Dostoevsky), Chaos (Tom O' Neill), and The Count of Monte Cristo (Dumas).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While I was incredibly sick deep in the Amazon Jungle, holding on for dear life, my guide blew cigarette smoke in my face because he said I had “the spirit of the bat.”

Weirdly enough, his unorthodox medicine seemed to work.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn about the real experiences of people and the place they live. I have a real interest in getting to know about different cultures, and what makes them special.

In terms of teaching, I have a background in psychology and history. I can teach you a few average magic tricks, and if you’ve ever wanted to skateboard, I can help with that. Additionally, if anyone wanted to practice their english, I am very glad to do that as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

All the good and bad travel stories. Also, any chores or help around the house. Any way I can make your life easier!
