Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in Hopkins, S.C. - it's a small town in the country. I have a twin sister, an older sister, and an older brother! I graduated from Duke University earlier this year, having majored in Neuroscience, and I am currently completing a postbaccalaureate program at the National Institute of Health in Maryland. While completing this program over the course of two years I plan to apply to several M.D./Ph.D. programs.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love oldies (music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s). My favorite group is The Temptations - listening to their music introduced me to oldies! I love animation and my absolute favorites are the amazing movie creations of Hayao Miyazaki (my favorites from the Miyazaki films are Castle in the Sky and Porco Rosso). I also enjoyed the 80s movies' Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. As for books, I enjoy fantasy novel and one of my favorite authors' is Cornelia Funke.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've studied abroad in Japan for 2 months, the summer after my sophomore year of college! I stayed in the Ishikawa prefecture, in Kanazawa! I studied level 2 Japanese while abroad and continued studying Japanese once I returned home. I love Japan and I can't wait to travel there again soon!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd be happy to teach Japanese, as well as teach others how to cook by sharing my favorite recipes!
I would love to learn how to read music and how to play instruments such as piano and the sax.
Because I'm new to the area and I'm still learning about my new home I am more so able to share travel stories as well as share my company when exploring the area.
Countries I’ve Visited
France, Japan, Spain
