I'm a 19 year old South African currently doing a GAP year in the United Kingdom. I work at a school in North Yorkshire and help to look after the kids, coach sport, help the kids with work, and basically am an older brother to them. When I head back to South Africa I am going to study to become an airline pilot.

I am couchsurfing because I would like to try something new and meet new people. Over the course of the year when I have been travelling, I have only stayed in hostels. Hostels are great because you meet the most extraordinary people, each with their own story to tell. This year I have met people from over 20 different countries and have made friends for life. I have heard from many of them that couchsurfing is a great way to meet locals and that is exactly what I am trying to achieve.

I have bungee jumped off of the tallest bungee bridge in the world. Bloukrans Bungee Jump is a jump situated on an arch bridge near Port Elizabeth, South Africa. At 216m, it is the tallest bungee bridge in the world and second tallest bungee jump in the world. The sheer terror of falling from such an extreme height gave me an adrenaline rush I had never felt before. Probably the most crazy thing I've ever done.
