About Me

I'm a native of Phoenix, Arizona and have spent the past year traveling the world with a group of 60 other people as a part of a group called "Remote Year." We just completed our year in Buenos Aires and I'm continuing solo traveling.

Amongst other things I enjoy playing guitar, kite surfing, running, meeting new people from foreign cultures and helping Pagely expand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe going somewhere unfamiliar and doing deep cultural immersion in foreign places has so many beneficial effects. Aside from enriching one's own experience it's the ultimate antidote to unraveling unfounded prejudices and stereotypes that exist across cultures. We did a month in Morocco via Remote Year and that was a hugely eye-opening experience. In the past year I've lived in 52 cities, 17 countries and across 4 continents. I'm hoping to continue my world education solo traveling.

I'm new to Couchsurfing (the site) but not couch surfing (the practice). Not much in the way of references here yet but you can read my past AirBnb reviews here: https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/2895129

Music, Movies, and Books

Music-wise I enjoy a huge variety of stuff. Easiest is prob just to look at my Spotify history to see what I'm listening to now: https://open.spotify.com/user/scrollinondubs

Movie-wise: favorites are Shawshank Redemption, Power of One and anything Christopher Nolan (Memento, Inception, Interstellar)

Book-wise: Atlas Shrugged, Alchemist, Way of the Peaceful Warrior, Illusions. More here: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/55494216-sean-tierney

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Within the past year I'd say hiking the Inca Trail was the most amazing thing I did. Machu Picchu was just as surreal as I'd hoped it would be. Highly recommend.

Prior to that, I'd say the most amazing side contribution I can claim is starting this effort: charitymakeover.com

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a teacher at heart- my profession just happens to be sales but my sales style is very much rooted in educating the prospect. In terms of what I'm presently focused on learning:
-taking the Reforge Growth series studying frameworks for growth hacking in business
-learning the Ableton DAW (a piece of audio recording software)
-learning kite surfing and krav maga

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm fairly adept at various disciplines related to entrepreneurship and startups so if you're in the early stages of planning to launch a business I can likely help you short circuit a lot of trial and error there. Customer Development, Lean Startup, Business Model Canvas, Sales Enablement, Demand Generation, Marketing Automation are all disciplines I'm qualified to teach.
