About Me

Hello, my name is Sean! I'm new to Couchsurfing this year (on the recommendation of a friend who surfed Europe last summer).

I'm a native Coloradan, an avid skier & hiker, and a softie for the great outdoors. Most of my international travel in my life has stemmed from 12 years as a competitive Irish dancer, but I'm looking forward to having more time and freedom now as a student to explore nooks and crannies across Europe, the United States, and the world.

I'm headed back to school this coming summer to finish my undergraduate degree at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where I've been studying government!

During my time away from school, I've worked as a digital media strategist on political campaigns in Colorado, Virginia, and New Hampshire. I'm always happy to talk about American politics if you're curious (and will do my best to keep quiet about it if you're not). More than anything, I love listening to and understanding the experiences of different people from both American and around the world (and this somehow keeps me going, despite all the vitriol and bickering in politics these days!).

I almost always travel together with my amazing girlfriend of three years, Grace, who is finishing her degree in Ecology and Environmental Studies at the University of Colorado in Boulder this May.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As students, Grace and I are at (I believe) a perfect age to travel and explore before settling into the routines of post-university employment, and we love the idea of staying with locals willing to open up their homes to young people like us! We're light travelers who enjoy visiting the tucked away places that aren't always easiest to reach.

We're both a bit spontaneous, which has taken us to many corners of the United States, but we're looking forward to finally travelling more broadly together and being part of the Couchsurfing community!
