ABOUT ME

Born in San Diego - moved to the Bay Area to finish up school at Berkeley. Back in San Diego ... for now.

Just rescued a black lab mix, so that's pretty much my entire life right now. Love paddleboarding, the San Diego brewery scene, live music, playing music (I'm a bass player), checking out different spots for food (hard to be on a diet around here), etc. I have a good sense of humor and will definitely tell a joke (or ten) that will fall flat - my apologies in advance!

I also really enjoy working - probably because I've been lucky enough to work in fields that I love (arts and advocacy). Sometimes it seems like all I do is work, but I am always motivated to find a way to love whatever I engage. I'm extremely interested in photography and would definitely be willing to show you around the Bay Area/San Diego for the best shooting locations/general photographic (mis)adventures.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just starting to get my foot in the door. Looking to participate in more events around the San Diego Area (trouble doing so last semester because of my work schedule). The concept for the site/community is amazing and I'd definitely enjoy being more involved. I'm traveling more now for work, so I really want to take the opportunity to meet more people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nothing involved directly with this site but I have partaken in a good amount of sleeping on couches, in random houses, in my time! I'm looking towards CouchSurfing for a more involved experience and getting to develop a good relationship with all those I stay with/host.

Interests

Photography, reading, taking the pup to the beach/walking my dog (more like me being walked by the dog sometimes!), making/listening to music, backpacking local mountains, learning, traveling, enjoying the city, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

music: very eclectic – anything from psychobilly to electronic artists like Flying Lotus. Above all else, anything Motown-related (at least soulful) as well as Neil Young. J DILLA!

books: more interested in poetry than prose – poets like william carlos williams, ts eliot and frank o’hara. Favorite authors would probably be ellison, faulkner, and twain – I really enjoy american literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm easily impressed but I have seen some very amazing sunsets from the hills of the East Bay as the sun moves beyond the horizon of San Francisco. Watching the sun rise over the Wicklow mountains in Ireland isn't so bad either!

Teach, Learn, Share

Let me help you with your photography. I can show you how to utilize a new camera or figure out how to get into film photography. I have a bass here at the house and play in a band, lets play some music?

Oh! I also can make an amazing avocado pie. It sounds horrible but trust me, you'll be impressed!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversation, food, drinks, etc. More than anything, I'm extremely adventurous so if you're looking to get out and do something, I'm your guy!
