About Me
So I'm Sean grew up in Belgium to an Irish mum and moved to Barcelona after several years in Germany.
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.'”
Up until I was 21 I had never been anywhere except Belgium and Ireland, one summer I had three weeks off from work and decided to hitchhike in the eastern direction. It took me all the way to eastern Poland with a few days in Berlin, my life only started at that point and I moved there a few years later.
After 6 years I got a little fed up with the city and joined some friends in Barcelona, it all started with kindness and hospitality of strangers and since then whenever I have the time I feel the urge to move, I simply can not sit around and need to be on the road as much as possible.
I AM NOT HOSTING RIGHT NOW:
I have had no particular bad experiences hosting, maybe just a few strange ones so that´s not the reason I stopped accepting people.
I quit because overtourism exists and Barcelona is one of the cities badly affected.
While Couchsurfing offers an alternative I´m more than happy to offer I need time to reflect at this point about how to deal with the current situation. The city is overrun.
That being said I´m also a little too busy to host, likely I will draw up rules regarding sustainable travelling people should adhere to and be more picky...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
