About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Wow! Had some serious bad experiences with couchsurfing recently. So to answer your questions in advance...
1) I am unable to take couchsurfers at the last minute.
2) I do not take couchsurfers with no references, sorry I know you have to start somewhere, try hosting a few times or at least get a friend to vouch for you.
3) If you do not pass the above criteria I will ignore your request.
4) If you purchase marijuana because it is legal in Washington, that is cool, but do not get super high because you can't take it on the plane and call me when I'm working to pick you up from the airport because you are too high to fly. This has happened and I was not happy.

Despite the above comments, I do enjoy hosting. If you are a young, poor kid or couple who wants to explore the world, I'm all for hosting. However, every request has to be filtered through the roommates, I also have to check my schedule, then when the OK is given, I say yes. This may take a few days. If you say yes, then cancel at the last minute I will give you negative feedback.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy exploring Seattle or any other city I can. I enjoy comic books and many other aspects of popular culture. When not going to concerts I can be found relaxing at home, possibly brewing up a batch of homebrew beer.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short, do not waste time with negative people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to lend a hand to repay the kindness others have shown me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A friend of mine introduced me to couchsurfing. She had nothing but positive things to say about it and introduced me to some really fun people. I had one surfer then nothing. Years pass and suddenly I had several people stay usually during the summer. I really enjoy meeting people and discussing their views and ideas unless you are a Trump supporter.

It took years and many rejections, but I finally stayed with some awesome hosts in Europe. I also have got some helpful advice and free rides to cool places in New Orleans, San Diego, and in Florida.

Interests

I enjoy comic books, drawing, and of course, traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

TV: Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, etc.

Music: I like both kinds of music, 80's and metal. Sometimes I listen to 80's metal. Seriously, I like almost all types of music. I've really been getting into "Post Rock" bands like Explosions in the Sky, Pelican, and Russian Circles.

Books: Most of the books I like have colorful pictures with variant covers. When not reading comics I like historical books, autobiographies, but I tend to gravitate to whatever my friends recommend.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

your mom.

Teach, Learn, Share

If I spent my entire life trying to learn, it would not be a wasted life. However, I still would have nothing but questions and the desire to learn more. If we meet, I want to know all about your culture. If I'm hosting, I will want to share what I love about Seattle.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Knowledge of Seattle, the transportation system, the tourist attractions, and the seedy underbelly of Seattle. I'm down for concerts, sporting events, beer tastings, and the occasionally night chilling at home with a movie.

If you are planning to go to Seattle, here is my three day checkoff list:

Day One:
Argosy Cruise around the harbor
Explore the waterfront, especially the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop
Pike Place Market
1) go to Peroski Peroski
2) try the chocolate pasta
3) gum wall
4) beer at Pike Place Brewery or happy hour at the Athenian
Olympic Sculpture Park
Mopop museum
Space Needle around Sunset
Get tipsy at a bar:
1) Tin Hat in Crown Hill
2) Shorty's in Belltown
3) Drink and eat the best fried chicken at Marco Polo in Sodo
4) 5 point
5) the Mecca

Day Two:
Ballard Locks
Golden Gardens
Fremont Troll/Lenin statue
Fremont Brewery
Archee McPhees
Eat at Paseo or Beth's Cafe

Day Three:
Listen to KEXP radio station
Walk along Alki Beach
Eat at Alki Spud Fish and Chips
Go to a concert
Go to Cinnebare in Montlake Terrace

Day four:
Take a ferry to Bainbridge or Bremerton
Take a tour of Safeco Field
Eat at Sodo Deli

Other things to do:
Go to the Underground Tour in Pioneer Square
Go to the top of the Smith Tower, cheaper than the Space Needle, and better too.
Eat some Dick's and make an immature joke about it.
Try several of our local breweries, especially Fremont Brewing.
There are several pin ball/arcade places like At-A-Ball.
The Atlas Theatre has some fun improve shows during the weekend evenings.
Make sure to see if there are any live shows while you stay, check the Showbox, Neptune, and El Corazon.
