Hello! My name is Sebastiaan, a Dutch student who currently studies at the University of Amsterdam and also a parttime chef in a restaurant. In my free time I like to hang out with my friends and just have fun.

This fall I went for a semester abroad to Hofstra University (NY). This was truly one of the best experiences of my live. It gave me the opportunity to meet so many new people from all over the world and make a bunch of new friends. It also gave me the opportunity to travel the north-east side of the US and even a bit of Canada (everybody should at least once take the train from NYC to Montreal, it is beautiful!).

Something that I really should mention in the about me section is my love for food. Working in a kitchen really triggered my passion for food and I cannot get enough of it. I love to discover new kinds of food, my personal restuarant-rule is: "Always try something you didn't try before." For me the best way to explore a new city or place is by eating and drinking my way into it. Preferably with nice people in a beautiful area.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

To get out of my comfort zone! I love to do new things but sometimes it is hard to come up with fun new things to do. Meeting new people and hearing about their passions and interests is really inspiring and makes me consider new interesting things. Over the last couple of months different people helped me to find new things (surfing, rock climbing, spinning and going to a museum ) that I wouldn't have done without them but that I really love to do now. I am sure that every couchsurf-host has something interesting to over that might be my new thing!

Did this already: Coming september I am crossing the big atlantic ocean for a semester abroad in New York. During my traveling it would be awesome to meet local people and make new friends.

After my semester abroad I am even more stoked by the traveling bug and would love to meet more people from all over the world. This why I am on couchsurfing to meet new people and experience each city through the eyes of a local.
