About Me

I have taken time off from work and am currently riding my bicycle through central america to California, USA! I grew up on Long Island and graduated from Vassar College with a degree in Anthropology. Since, I have been a volunteer with the peace corps in Burkina Faso, a community organizer in New Orleans, a math & English teacher in the Marshall Islands and director of a nonprofit in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want the opportunity to meet new people and offer hospitality to others in the same generous spirit it has been offered me during my travels!

Music, Movies, and Books

Rock&Roll, old backporch blues, jazz and classic country.
Though I am open to watching anything new or recommended, I do like the thin red line, the lord of the rings trilogy, the planet earth documentaries and Casablanca.
I have many favorite books but most recently: the savage detectives, the snow leopard, Walden and all the pretty horses.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have lived in a few other countries already in my short life and right now I am attempting to pedal my bicycle from Panama City to Los Angeles California!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love the chance to meet as many people along the road as possible and hear stories of how people have lived their lives, their experiences and adventures!

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I travel I do not have much to share materially but I can share myself, experiences as well as my sincere desire to better understand others values and beliefs. I am more than willing to collaborate on meals as well!
