About Me

My name is Sebastian, I am 24 years old and I come from Santiago de Chile. You might say that I am as Chilean as they come, which means that I no longer fear earthquakes and that I enjoy pisco sour in the evening, enjoy empanadas during lunch and enjoy waiting
in long lines to get a document signed in the mornings. You could consider that last part as one of our main cultural morning traditions. I travelled abroad to New York city for the first time in 2016, to stay for a couple of weeks with my American godmother.
It is on that trip that I started to gain the love for travelling, adventure and meeting new people. Two years ago I hitchhiked with a friend all around the south of Chile, where I met other Canadian backpackers who
were doing the same thing. It is from them that I discovered the wonderful community of Couchsurfing.

I would love to explore more this beautiful planet and meet more people from all different cultures. I consider myself open minded and I love people with a great sense of humor.
Even though I don’t consider my cooking skills to be even worth mentioning, I do enjoy eating. If you would ever be around Santiago, I can definitely take you to the best places for traditional Chilean food.
I must warn you, we do fry our sushi here because us Chileans generally have a lack of taste in their tongues.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people in new places, but also to show interested travelers around in the wonderful city of Santiago! It is maybe not the cheapest nor must appreciated city of South America, but I can
guarantee you that there are amazing aspects about Santiago, especially considering the rough history that it has witnessed throughout the years.

Given the social unrests today and the regular protest actions, I would say that the history is currently still being written on a daily basis.
