About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Immigrating to Melbourne, Australia

ABOUT ME

I am a very communicative person who likes to face new challenges. At the age of 17 I had the chance to do an internship in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. In 2007 I worked as a Marketing Executive in Ireland, which I describe as my second home country now. I am half Dutch (my mother was born in Amsterdam)...and well, I love to travel around the globe. Spending most of my income salary on city trips, adventure trips or other things...I am not the guy, who loves sitting on a beach for a whole week. I need to go around, doing some sight-seeing and talking with locals. You know, I need to have some action!!

My job is also quite important for me. Last 5 years I implemented knowledge management 2.0 systems in mainly Small and Medium Sized Enterprises and also for the Project Management Office of Kapsch BusinessCom PLC in Vienna. I am 27 years old and have expanded my knowledge of electronic business management and communications through a bachelor’s and master’s degree.

My interests are both professionally and personally very broad. In my free time I love to do extreme sports like Airboarding, Bungee Jumping, Skydiving or Canyoning. In my job field I always want to stay on the cutting edge of things. That’s why I am still visiting some lectures in the field of computer science at the Vienna University of Technology as a kind of hobby.

Currently, I am planning to immigrate to Melbourne, Australia. I am one of the lucky ones that has already found the girl of the dreams. My girlfriend and I decided to do some more travelling, before starting to have kidz. We both have been in America, whole Europe and thought, it is time to go to the other end of the world. So we decided to spend a couple of months in Australia, starting in November 2014.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy? 3 main ponts:
1. Yes, we can! ;) There is nothing that cannot be done in life.
2. We only live once - so you have to enjoy life YET!
3. It's gonna be legend...wait for it...dary!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am working in Vienna. My girlfriend lives there. As soon as we both have settled in Vienna, we will definitely also host travellers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

6 months ago, I surfed to Nuremburg to see the huge christmas market. I met great guys there, who become friends now. Moreover, the 3 guys who offered my girlfriend and me accommodation, also travelled to Austria to my home town, where I hosted them and had a good time!
I also surfed to Erlangen once, which is a real student and party city - great people are living there.

Interests

I always love to try new things (like new sports or technologies). I have already worn a Google Glass! - Isn't that cool?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

About 5 years ago, I booked a flight to New York City just for 1 Dollar (with return ticket). I flew to NYC spend 39 hours day (without any sleep) and then flew totally exhausted back home. Crazy short trip and unforgetable.
