About Me

CURRENT MISSION

get to know costa del sol

ABOUT ME

i am currently study in the 'Architektur.Studium.Generale' study course. That means travelling to 8 different cities (Cottbus, Tallinn, Lisbon, Wroclaw, Innsbruck, Sevilla, Tel Aviv, Berlin) and working in different universities in the frame of a 2month workshops.

in 2008/09 i lived for one year in Japan whereas half of that time i was studying at the University of Tsukuba and the other half i worked in Shigeru-Ban's architecture office.
i liked the experience of that time pretty much. The extrem contrast of traditional sliding paper wall country side houses and the extremely densified Metropolitan urbanism is just astonishing.

PHILOSOPHY

Wabi-Sabi
the highest beauty is not the instant gleam of the sun, but the refracted one of the moon, the shell of inconspicuousness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

couchsurfing is simply the nicest way to get to know the real spirit of the place you travel to. getting in touch with the local community and getting to know the everyday places people are going.
nowadays society is so much based on tourism, and it became actually so independent from the original identity of the place that sometimes tourists are experiencing a total different world then the local people do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i was travelling through Japan from tokyo in the east to fukuoka which is pretty much in the west. On the way we stayed at a womans couch in kobe. Together with her friends we cooked, talked, and shared experience. we got a recommendation for the tiny island Naoshima where we did go after the kobe stay. Naoshima was definitely one of the most stunning things i have experienced. i guess afterwards i was pretty much convinced of couchsurfing.
