Another Kiwi living in Melbourne. I like to go out dance and party a bit, I don't drink too much but don't mind those who do. Just started working as a food stylist and photography assistant so that's exciting.
Can be very sarcastic and a dark sense of humour, if I'm screwing with you it means I probably like you or could mean I hate you.
I have two room mates who are both really easy going and keep pretty busy although they're a little apprehensive about couch surfing so you'll have to leave the house when I do and come back when i get back home too and hopefully not hang out too much inside. Besides there's heaps of fun things to do in this city :) and not much to do at my place :(
If you'd like to make a request please mention something specific of why you'd like to stay so I can know you read my profile.
Please read the "My Home' section too!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
First time surfing had me in Nichome, the gay district of Tokyo singing 'Love Shack' in a tiny karaoke bar. Since then there's been a whole load of weird, strange, fun and interesting experiences and I'd like to share them with as many weird, strange, fun and interesting people!
Live music, art, weird performance type stuff, cooking and eating, photography. I also just started trying to get healthier by going to the gym and eating better so if you know anything about that then let me know!
I loooooove going out to 'underground' parties/concerts/clubs(if there's a good DJ) so if you're not into clubs and parties it's probably best to find someone else especially coming into Spring/Summer.
Also Melbourne is an expensive city and to enjoy it you really do need to spend money, $15-30 on a concert(there's sometimes free concerts too), $20-50 on a nice meal, public transport is about $7.50 for the whole day. So please if you're staying with me expect to spend some money on a ticket to an event or dinner. On top of that, I'll more than likely offer you food and drinks but I ain't rich so please return the favour if I do( I hate to have to write this after 5 years on CS but I do).
Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a lot of rap, I like the variety it has to offer. From Kendrick Lamar to Danny Brown and Blackalicious.
Electronic stuff is good, Nicolaas Jaar is perfect on a lazy Sunday as is some heavier stuff like Jeff Mills to get crazy. House, techno, bass music(or whatever you want to call it) and atmospheric stuff too.
Record labels I like are Other People, Innervisions, Soulection, Pampa, Monkeytown, Ostgut Ton, DIYnamic and a whole bunch more.
Some guitar music too, Television, Modest Mouse, The Strokes and more.
Movies are great directors I like are Tarantino, Fincher, the Coen brothers,
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jumping out of a plane 14k ft in the air over New Zealand, seeing coast to coast and laughing like a maniac on the way down.
Hanging out with turtle bros in the great barrier reef, snorkeling around, looking at all the deadly poisonous things down there under the water.
Playing James Bond on a snowmachine in Alaska, riding over a frozen lake at over 80km/ph underneath a low flying Cessna before hitting a mogul and catching massive(not really) air.
Hitchhiking from Paris to Coimbra and sleeping on the side of the motorway just outside of Bordeaux.
Teach, Learn, Share
Cooking is my profession, sharing food is a passion of mine.
I get pretty nerdy with keeping up with current music through blogs so like to share and swap new music with people.
I know a little about photography too but would like to learn more.
Tell me the last song you listened to!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer a nice home cooked meal and a conversation, I'm pretty good at finding out whats going on in a city even if I'm new there.
