À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to live the present as if tomorow never comes

ABOUT ME

//I am now on a journey, check out my website: www.metslesvoiles.org//

Curious and passionate, in 2 words my interests turn around travels and nature, ranging from birds, rocks to extreme sports as base jumping.

If I have a plan in life?
Yes, that would be to work as a geologist a few years, save as much money as possible then take a few years off to do whatever I want to, and so on.

I dream about nomadism and that's what is gonna be very soon. I know I could never run away for ever from our western society as material and confort is taking us from our guts but I will try I promise!
My second goal is to experience the ultimate way of living the outdoor:
That'd be to climb bigwalls, this kind of stuff where you spent a night hanging on a string attached to a piece of metal that you just stuck inside a rock, bringing my parachute up to the summit before a nice freefall back to the bottom, the whole trip in a wild place far away from anything.

What I find essential: reading.
When I see a library, I can't help thinking that here, under your eyes lies the knowledge that can make you whatever you want to. Reading abroad your mind. Its the only media free of advertisment where you can free your soul plus it brings you entertainment or knowledge.

About my studies, they are slowly taking me against my ethics: geology is a beautiful science that unfortunately leads to killing machine jobs!!

About people:
I love life though and I really believe in making the most of it. I think the people you meet have a huge influence in who you become and I am genuinely grateful for all the wonderful people I know already and also for the ones I will soon have the opportunity to meet.

But anyway, i take it easy whatsoever the situation is!

PHILOSOPHY

fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, its like looking at life thru the wrong end of a telescope!!
...i like this quote, even if i am not really a fantasist person!

I am a very very curions person (there is still some unconscious subjet sorting of course). So maybe I would define the best quality you d have would be curiosity. Even if more serioulsy there would have some more important that d come first. It also matter of where your living and your culture. That s in a western context where we sell you any ideas just to get benefits.

To define me:I am kinda of a weirdo ,if I may say, that lives his life just on the next trip, the next expedition, the next project among the hundreds in mind that I am working on. Right now I dont plan on (or look for) family or girlfriend but just get educated for my future careers(long term, I dont know) as a geologist and save every penny to use it into adventures when freetime comes. This is a good definition of my state of mind right now.

I'm also a vegetarian. I think it s a philosophy of life and it feels good. Anybody that stops for a sec, think and search and understand whats in his plate will turn into one. Just try it!!

I almost forgot: I am an ANTICONFORMIST by definition. I always have to do things diferently. Plus I hate rules. I consider being educated enough that I dont need a general code to tell me how to behave...WE ARE TOO MANY!!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I received a few times(not under my profil), it usually ends up with cheese and red wine, how original!!
Otherwise always surfing and having tons of fun with different types of people, different ages, different countries.
Maybe my best memory was on the sunshine coast by vancouver when that awesome lady picked us up at the boat with my 2 friends and hosted us for 4 days, took us to her family for christmas, offered us presents, hepled us to get our trip done that is getting skies and hitch hiking to the other side of the island to hike up to the simmit and spent 3 days backcountry skiing from huts to huts...sick! In exchange, we invited the whole family to her place, cooked them some french specialities and helped her fix her roof!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I love films but i find it hard to find a correct one nowadays as it always comes with the same kind of scenarios. I don't watch movies that contains violence anymore as it is slowly tainted our mind uncunsciously!I try to avoid american ones.
Maybe i prefer girl movies!! Plus I am a big fan of documentary, used to watch one per day at some point!

I m a bit special on books, i read only books that bring me something. I like authentic stories, autobiographie but not fiction. I love anthropology, stories of ancient cultures, about great travellers(when travelling meant something) like marco polo, sociology, philosophy, economy, politic, history, psychology...
Last book on mind: Open Veins of Latin America, eduardo galeano or shantaram.
The best story ever read:
Journal d une apprentie chamane, corinne sombrun. (sorry, no english version!)

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Well, i did some crazy stupid stuff by the time i was partying hard...but now i spend my energy on mountain sports and i could tell some tricky stuff about paragliding or base jumping.
I have a pretty good list of travel stuff too but don't really feel like telling it here.visited 22 states (9.77%)Create your own visited map of The World or another interesting project

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

About sport, I taught people how to fly paragliders(2), I make 2 friends did one base jump without any previous knowledge and could introduce you to climbing.
I always keep my book list. So I could give it to you and maybe get you hooked up on reading. That s how it started with me. Plus I always give my book around, thinking that the knowledge and goodness of a book has to be shared, not just stacked up on a shelf for you personnal ego.
I could teach you some geologie stuff, how the earth works and everything.
I could introduce you to my way of travelling with no money and share my adventures.
