ABOUT ME

(2012) I'm Emily, I'm an artist, I'm 35, and have finished my uni studies this year (fine art photography), I'm in Aussie for the first time right now, and want to see as much of it as I can, ideally whilst working. I spend a lot of my time either delighted or deeply confused by things that other people think are ordinary :)

I don't snore.

[edit] I'm now 37, I've been in Aussie for a bit over two years, in that time i havent used couch surfing, but i have worked a lot of weird jobs, met loads of awesome people, and I've managed to hitch hike around maybe 2/3rds of the country, including Tasmania. When I get up to Darwin I'll have been the whole way round, and through the middle a couple of different ways. neat fun :)

I'm an artist, so I'm often looking at art related stuff, or just wandering about looking at stuff, I read, I enjoy quieter social settings as my hearing is less than wonderful in loud places. I really enjoy exploring new places, and frequently get my self lost on purpose :)

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Swimming with (near) an orca in New Zealand - amazing, and more than a little intimidating.
Experiencing the inside of a lightning storm when camping up in the mountains in new zealand, it was astonishingly intense and seemed to go on forever.

I've been a lot of crazy places here in Aussie, met loads of cool people, and hitch hiked some ridiculous number of K's here. Waking up in the desert is special :)
Sapphire prospecting in NSW (successfully), and gold prospecting in WA (not) were interesting.
