Managing the chaos...
I find it a bit strange and difficult to describe myself. It's only trough meeting others, seeing how they are and being seen trough their eyes and seeing the world that I am a bit able to define myself. And probably that definition is still quite wrong. But I guess i'm an introverted person and I have learned that I appear to be very calm on the outside. Though inside, most of the time, there is no peace at all, but a constant flood of thoughts, observations and feelings. I'm very sensitive, although I don't appear to be, quite the contrary. I don't like small talking either, so I guess I have a direct, honest and straight forwarded way of communicating. I just want to get the most out of conversations and people. I'm interested in their opinions, feelings and views on life. Also i enjoy just chilling and being relaxed. I can spend hours doing seemingly nothing, but just talk, read, walk, watch other people around me and think. I like meeting places, drinks and good conversations. And when I'm traveling, I like to explore the small aspects of everyday live in other places.
I'm still trying to figure that out. It would take too much space here to write it all down, but maybe in a conversation we can discuss it... But my favourites so far are Martin Buber, Martin Heidegger, Husserl and Sartre. I like existentialists and people who discuss the interactions between people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surf and I host, and i meet other CS'ers for drinks.
I have more surfed then hosted, cause my place is not all that well acomodated for guests (unless you don't need luxury and comfort at all) :-)
I've hosted Lukasz, Eline, Allison and various other people (though not always by means of couchsurfing)and Ive surfed a lot in Poland (Arek, Izabella, Bogna, Dania, Emelia) and the Baltic states
talking, travel, wandering around, loitering, thinking, photography, art, literature, music, philosophy, sociology
Music, Movies, and Books
I like plenty of movies, music and books...:-) just a short list:Movies: Donnie Darko, Dogville, The straight story, films by Bergman, Ken loach, Mike Leigh, etcBooks: The discovery of heaven by H. Mulisch, Too loud a solitude by Bohumil Hrabal, The Book of Disquiet by Fernando Pessoa, etc.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well mostly i'm a confused person, learning so many new perspectives and having so many ideas of what to do and see first, that i'm basically lost and in doubt most of the time, so I don't know if i have something to teach you, but i'm willing to discuss a lot...:-)But I do know almost everything about the history of Belgium and the history between flemish and walloon people, So if you look for someone who can explain the situation of Belgium, I'm the one you are looking for :-)I can also teach you a bit about photography in case you are interested. I like cooking together and learning new ways and tricks for cooking (cause i like eating great tasting food) and i would like to learn how to play various music instruments.
